IMOT (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. (亿姆特（上海）科技有限公司, "IMOT," "we," "us," or "our") operates imottech.com and the HFE Space platform (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you register for HFE Space we collect your email address, a username, and a password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see or store your password in plain text).
Project and device content. Information you enter into HFE Space to use its features — for example, a device or project name, and any other project details you submit for AI-assisted drafting.
Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider; IMOT does not store your full card number.
Usage and log data. Basic technical information such as login timestamps, feature usage (for example, how many report generations or Points-based operations you've used), IP address, and browser/device type.
Communications. Information you provide when you contact us through the contact form or by email.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and maintain your account, and to authenticate you when you log in.
- To provide the features you use — including generating AI-assisted drafts from the project information you submit.
- To operate our Points and subscription system: tracking plan entitlements, usage limits, and billing.
- To communicate with you about your account, respond to support requests, and send service-related notices.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Service, including detecting abuse of free trial or usage-limit rules.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your project content to train third-party AI models.
3. AI Processing and Third-Party Service Providers
HFE Space's AI-assisted features (such as HFE report drafting) work by sending the project information you submit to a third-party large language model provider, which returns generated draft text. This is the same information you typed into the relevant form — we don't send your account credentials or unrelated account data.
We rely on the following categories of third-party providers to operate the Service:
- Authentication and database: Supabase, which stores your account and project data.
- AI drafting: a third-party language model provider, which processes the content you submit to generate draft text.
- Hosting: Netlify, which serves the website and runs the serverless functions behind features like report generation.
- Payments (once enabled): a third-party payment processor (Paddle), which handles checkout and billing directly — we do not store your payment card details ourselves.
Each of these providers processes data only as needed to perform their function for us, under their own security and privacy commitments.
4. Data Retention and Your Rights
We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward in case you wish to reactivate it or as needed for legal, accounting, or security purposes.
You can:
- Access or export your raw account and project data at any time by contacting us — this remains available even if your subscription lapses or your workspace becomes read-only.
- Correct inaccurate account information, such as your username or email.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to any records we're required to keep for legal or accounting reasons.

5. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your browser and our servers, hashed password storage, and access controls (Row Level Security) that restrict each account to its own data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use a minimal set of browser storage mechanisms necessary to keep you signed in (session tokens) and to enforce the inactivity timeout described in our sign-in flow. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for professional use by human factors, design, and regulatory professionals, and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. International Data Transfers
IMOT is based in Shanghai, China, and our service providers operate infrastructure in multiple regions. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be processed and stored outside your home country, including in jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those of your own.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders directly.
